Project Spotlight: Denver, Colorado
Tilt-and-Turn Egress Window in a Historic Stone Foundation
Older Denver homes with stone foundations take a careful hand when a new egress window goes in. For this one, we added a 30" x 48" tilt-and-turn egress window to the basement, set a Boman Kemp Easy Well outside it, and tied the new opening into the existing stone so the house keeps its original character.

What Went Into This Upgrade
A safer, brighter basement from three pieces working together: the window, the well and the stonework around them.

The Tilt-and-Turn Window
From inside, the 30" x 48" tilt-and-turn window has a clean white frame. It tilts in at the top for fresh air and swings all the way open when someone needs to get out.

A Boman Kemp Easy Well
Outside, a Boman Kemp Easy Well made from 18-gauge galvanized steel with a white enamel finish holds back the soil. A built-in ladder turns it into a true exit, and a steel bar grate on top guards against falls.

Fitted to the Old Stone
The opening was worked into the existing stone foundation instead of around it, with gravel surrounding the well for drainage, so the upgrade blends in with the home.
Window well replacementEgress Windows for Older Denver Homes
Stone and brick foundations on older homes leave little room for guesswork. Cutting a new opening means planning around the stone, and the finished window and well still have to meet today's egress rules. We handle the planning and any permits as part of the job.
